HEM Data
Corp. is teaching a class for the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
entitled
"Acquiring & Analyzing Data from Sensors and
In-Vehicle Networks". The schedule for 2008 is: June
9-10, and
November 6-7.
DAWN™
acquires data from automobile in-vehicle networks using CAN, ISO9141
or SAE J1850 protocols, as well as heavy duty vehicles using J1939 CAN
and J1708. In addition, DAWN simultaneously acquires data directly from
sensors and from vehicle networks. This gives you the best of both
approaches - using the vehicle sensors if they meet your needs, and the
ability to add the missing sensors and to acquire data from them all
simultaneously!
HEM Data has integrated its
DAWN™
product for acquiring data from in-vehicle networks with
AVIT™ by Drew
Technologies', its ruggedized data logging hardware for unmanned, data
collection without a PC. HEM Data has ported its Snap-Master™ for
Windows software to run on Linux, AVIT’s operating system. As a major
benefit, the user configures the logger with the Snap-Master™ for
Windows user-interface. The resulting settings are saved and transferred
to the logger. With no software programming the logger is then ready to
acquire data after the AVIT cable is connected to a standard vehicle
adaptor.
AVIT is specifically designed to mount in the vehicle with its extended
temperature range, the ability to hibernate to save power when the
vehicle is switched off, and a quick wake-up. AVIT can also be used for
PC-based data acquisition for real-time display and analysis that is
valuable for vehicle diagnostics.
AVIT is capable of acquiring a wide range of heavy-duty and automotive
protocols as well as simultaneously acquiring analog and GPS data. It
also communicates wirelessly using Wi-Fi and cellular links.
Snap-Master™
and
now support GPS with serial, USB and Bluetooth interfaces. The NMEA 0183
(National Marine Electronics Association) standard is supported.
Snap-Master™
for Windows has been ported to Linux so that
DAWN™
will now run as a stand-alone data logger. This is ideal where a flight
(black-box) recorder is required instead of a laptop.
The
DAWN Demo has been updated. This audio/video presentation
shows the features and benefits of DAWN as both a PC-based, real-time
display and analysis system, or as a stand-alone logger.
HEM Data offers consulting
services, training,
and application support with our products
in the following areas: diagnostics,
vibration testing, in-vehicle testing with CAN,
data acquisition, and data analysis. If you need
help with your application, let one of our experts assist you. If
you have specifications, email them to us at
support@hemdata.com, or
call (800 436-4330).
NOVA™ is our compact and
versatile PC-based noise and vibration analyzer that integrates both the
hardware and software into a PC-based analyzer that emulates a spectrum
analyzer, waveform analyzer, digital oscilloscope and more. It has a dozen
pre-configured test instruments for standard tests such as impact testing,
power spectrum analysis, A-weighted sound meter, order tracking, and more.
