Extended Support Policy

 

The Extended Support Policy (ESP) offers both the latest software enhancements for Snap-Master and technical support for the ESP period. This document describes the ESP policy, lists the latest features, and provides a price list.

The Extended Support Policy (ESP) allows users to extend their product support of Snap-Master beyond the initial four months of free support. This policy is generally renewed annually, however, some users prefer to renew for a two or three year period.  The support policy is designed to continually focus on our customers' growing needs. The Extended Support Policy includes:

 Recent Snap-Master Enhancements

In addition to technical support, you will receive the latest version of software which included the following recent enhancements:

The new 32 bit driver support for Microsoft Windows XP, 2000, and NT has been completed for IOtech DaqBooks and its DBK modules. National Instruments E series hardware is supported as well as Dataq’s DI-720 and DI-730 modules. Supported hardware interfaces include PCI, USB, Ethernet, parallel and PCMCIA. Check with HEM Data for current hardware supported.

A new utility, SM Exit, will close Snap-Master and all associated Windows processes. This is handy in case Snap-Master is not responding and you want to close it. You can then restart Snap-Master without rebooting the computer. This utility works with Windows NT/2000/XP.

The updated plot element handles high zoom factors on large data files. Updated Disk In element is more forgiving for reading data files.

The added user-configurable password protection for both the Sensor Specs table and Plot Layout table allows the Test Designer to have control over which users can update and change instrument configurations.

The added Library Manager, as a standard component, allows the user to selectively load only the DLLs that are needed. This also controls the password option described above.

Enhanced support for DDE (Microsoft’s dynamic data exchange) exists as an interface between Snap-Master and other applications while using 32 bit operating systems such as 98, Me, NT, 2000, and XP. This is beneficial for any application using Front Panel LibraryTM to customize the user interface. HEM Data’s other software uses this DDE update including NOVATM, Custom User InterfaceTM (CUI), AutoPilotTM, InstrumentPlayerTM and Monitoring LimitsTM.

Several developed Snap-Master instruments that solve various applications such as: RPM (also BPM) calculations from a tach signal, event counting, double integration, filtering tips, removing data glitches automatically, finding the corresponding time or frequency of key events, analysis tips, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and more.

If you want to enroll in an ESP durations longer than one year, contact HEM Data for pricing.

The price for each of the extended support policies is per registered user and depends on both the model purchased and the duration of the support policy. A registered user is defined as the person named on the registration form which has been returned to the offices of HEM Data Corporation. You must be a registered user. For ESP policies covering multiple units at your company, contact HEM Data Corporation.

For new users, the Extended Support Policies take effect 120 days (four months) after purchase of a new system. Thus, with your new product plus an extended support policy, you will have 16 consecutive months of support service from the date of purchase. For existing customers, the Extended Support Policies take effect at the time of the upgrade.
